Empowering Women and Advancing Equality

Kitabu Integrated Development Association is a non-profit  community based organisation helping rural and marginalised women and girls to realise their rights and exercise them, we ensure their full participation in leadership and decision making

We work to contribute to Sustainable Development goal 5 of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls

We work to end all forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls, eliminating child marriage, female genital mutilation  (FGM) and all other harmful practices

Key Initiatives

Economic justice & participation

We have empowered marginalized women and girls with skills, tools, and income opportunities to achieve financial independence and improve their livelihoods.

Body and health rights

Empower women and girls with menstrual health support, rights education, and access to reusable sanitary pads to reduce stigma and improve well-being.

Female Genital Mutilation

Combat harmful genital practices like labia elongation through education, advocacy, and safe spaces that empower girls to make informed decisions about their bodies.

Water and sanitation

Improve access to clean water in the Rwenzori region by partnering with Engineers Without Borders to install safe water systems and reduce the burden on women and girls.
