Addressing Water Scarcity in the Rwenzori Region
There is scarcity of water in the Rwenzori mountain regions, Kitabu being hilly, women and girls move long distances to access water, long lines and slow flowing taps lead to delays and sometimes girls and women are sexually harassed, KIDA is at the forefront of mobilising resources and water for its community
KIDA has collaborated with Engineers Without Borders Netherlands and a tank and water systems have been installed, a successful Water4 Kasese project has eased access to clean drinking and domestic use water for kitabu villages
Again we are collaborating with the The Engineers Without Borders USA that has finalised its pilot studies and in progress for providing more water to our communities
